Waiting

We have made our way down the coast to Kokrobrite after the stay in Cape Coast. We are staying 40km outside of Accra on the beach (that makes 14 out of 15 days at the beach; don't be jealous). Our main purpose in the Accra area is to obtain our Nigerian visas. The Nigerian embassy only accepts visa applications on Mondays and Thursdays, so we made our way to Kokrobrite on Sunday so we could get our applications processed Monday and hopefully have them ready so we can head to Togo on Thursday. That is when we found our first major problem on the trip: the Nigerian embassy is out of visa stickers. They won't have them until the end of this week, at the earliest. And this being Africa, if the stickers arrive within the next week it will be a miracle. So all we can do is wait and sit at the beach until the stickers arrive. Granted, there are worse places to have to spend some extra time. The biggest impact is on when we will arrive in Nairobi. There is a good chance that I won't get there until mid-April, 2 weeks later than I had hoped. Still too early to tell, but the trip may be getting longer and longer, especially when problems arise.

On a lighter note, I went to lunch at Ryan's Irish Pub in Accra today. Good burger, good beer. Everything is good.

Not sure when the next opportunity to email will be, so this may be it for a while (or I might post again tomorrow; I just don't know).
